Reshuffle is a newly drawn and revised version of the traditional Finnish children’s card game titled Pekka-game or Funny Families.

Reshuffle’s 48 individual characters are 21st century transformed. Inheriting international features and realistic professions without subjected to prejudice. Where cognitive dissonance is prevalent within contemporary arts, Reshuffle’s objective is geared towards promoting, educating and raising cultural awareness. Popular fore-, and surnames are gathered globally with improved job titles translated into Finnish, English and Japanese. Skin tones are left blank. The viewer has to visualize the true ethnicity of the characters identities. Repetition of the characters have been superimposed as the card’s back design.

The first edition of the Reshuffle is a unique, handmade cards collection on giant cardboard backings (90 cm x 60 cm) and card boxes. The limited edition prints (21 cm x 13.7 cm) and standard size deck are digital print series of the original Reshuffle.
